Betul KALFA

I was born in 1999 in Bursa. I attended primary, secondary and high school in Istanbul and Sakarya. I am currently living in Istanbul with my family. I will graduate from Marmara University Faculty of Theology at the end of the 2023 Spring semester. My interest in drawing started at a very young age. I have been drawing on the margins of my school notebooks and on my sketchbooks for as long as I can remember. I participated in all painting competitions in my schools and the teachers I was closest to became my painting teachers. I am interested in all kinds of drawing and even art in general. We even make murals with my friends. I also participated in independent competitions. I’m working on character/concept/background design because I’m more interested in the animation industry. However, in this process, I also did some works that we can call free illustrations. I can say that my field of interest is Turkish culture and history, world peoples/different geographies and fictional universes that I have created. I also attended some workshops and online trainings. However, I am not an artist who is basically content with these, I continue to improve myself in all aspects of drawing, using every resource I can find. In the future, I want to have a profession that I will love in the fields of illustration and concept design.
