Comic book artist, cartoonist and illustrator M.K. Perker was born in 1972. He is one of the most prominent and internationally recognized artists of Turkey. His first caricature was published in 1988 on Gırgır, the best-selling comic magazine in Turkey ever. In 2001, Perker moved to the USA, where he worked for The New York Times, The Washington Post, The New Yorker, The Progressive, MAD and Heavy Metal. His comic books were published in US include “Cairo” (DC Comics / Vertigo), four-album series “Air” (DC Comics / Vertigo), two-album series “Todd” (Image Comics) and Insomnia Cafe (Dark Horse). Some of his published books in Turkey are Masal Mafya and Türkan Şoray Durağı. He is the first and only Turkish member of the Society of Illustrators. In 2016, he founded KaraKarga Publications together with Yelda Cumalıoğlu. He is currently drawing the character called “Ece” in the daily newspaper Hurriyet.
